Wilderness Reserve Suffolk

The Best of British

Whilst the world is slowly opening up again and many of you are itching to get away there is no denying the fact that the situation is changing daily and you may be apprehensive about travelling overseas.

However travel doesn’t have to mean getting on a plane – as an independent travel agent, we are best placed to arrange your perfect escape whether that be overseas or closer to home.

We have picked a few favourite UK hideaways we thought may appeal to those looking for a change of scene.  We work closely with them all, we know them all well and we know they will look after you.  We can also ensure all your spa and dinner reservations are confirmed before you go and make sure you know exactly what’s on offer to guarantee you make the most of that well earned break away.

The Pig – Cornish beach getaway

The Pig group has 7 hotels from Kent to its newest piglet in Cornwall.  The Pig at Harlyn Bay is situated in one of the most gorgeous parts of the North Cornwall coast, close to the sweeping beaches of Harlyn Bay and Constantine Bay and just a hop, skip and a jump from Padstow. The hotel itself is a beautiful restored 15th century house offering character and charm and ideally located to enjoy those beautiful beaches, buzzy Cornish towns and some of the best food in the country come rain or shine! There is so much to do. As we write, The Pig has last minute availability in August 2020 and for that much needed Autumn break too.

For further Cornish inspiration check out Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes or The Driftwood Hotel in Portscatho on the south coast.

Limewood – New Forest relaxation and rejuvenation

Set in Lyndhurst in the heart of the New Forest National Park, Limewood offers laid back luxury where guests are encouraged to relax and feel at home.  Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder’s Italian inspired seasonal menus provide a stand alone reason to go.  Twin that with the most relaxing of spas and you may not even have time to explore the beautiful forest surroundings.

Beaverbrook – English country house experience

Relatively new to the luxury UK hotel scene, Beaverbrook in Surrey offers a quintessentially English Country House experience wrapped up with style and elegance. Beaverbrook is a great escape for retreating couples and families alike with a wealth of experiences on offer. The kids club and Bear Grylls Academy will keep children stimulated and inspired and the adults can choose from a selection of activities and masterclasses from history tours to wine tastings, cookery classes and even a cocktail making masterclass. After dinner, relax with a drink from Sir Frank’s bar or head into the private cinema for a late night movie.

Dormy House – farmhouse chic

Cotswolds farmhouse chic doesn’t come much better than in the form of Dormy House. It’s a really cosy spot with log fires, cosy corners and uber comfortable interiors. Book a hot tub suite for sheer indulgence or take your four legged friend and request one of their dog friendly suites.  Dine through the day from the pub style Potting Shed to dinner in the Back Garden via the best of afternoon teas.  The hotel chefs present the best of Cotswolds cuisine using home grown vegetables and locally sourced meats and ingredients.  Don’t worry, there’s always 400 aces of glorious grounds to walk it all off between feasts.

Another of our favourite spots in the Cotswolds is Thyme offering houses, cottages and bedrooms in a village environment.

Wilderness Reserve – getaway from it all stylish rural living

If you’re looking for an off grid bolthole, Wilderness Reserve could be for you. Wilderness offers the epitome of stylish rural living in a collection of 15 individual private homes set within 5,000 acres nestled in a hidden corner of the Suffolk countryside. Retreats for two up to very special celebratory houses all offer exceptional accommodation and whatever your group size, there is plenty to do:  Cycling, rowing boats, paddle boarding, truffle making, archery and clay pigeon shooting and that’s just the beginning! Adventure types can take part in an adult survival challenge, for relaxation there are yoga and pilates classes and the children have oodles of adventures to enjoy.

We hope this whistle stop journey of some of our favourites spots in the UK has given you some inspiration. At the time of writing, all the properties featured here have availability for late summer 2020 and beyond.
