Begin your tour of Canada’s east coast by discovering the cosmopolitan city of Toronto.  Highlights of touring the city include seeing the provincial Parliament Buildings, City Hall, the financial district, Chinatown, the residential areas and the waterfront.  Ride the glass-fronted elevators to the top of the CN Tower, standing at 335.33 metres tall, and take in unforgettable views of Toronto and Lake Ontario. Take some time to soak up the city’s easy going vibe and maybe do a spot of shopping too.

Kingston

From Union Station in Toronto, board VIA Rail’s The Corridor train to Kingston.  This scenic journey will take you through the townships and villages north of the shores of Lake Ontario and onto the historic city of Kingston and the 1,000 Islands region.  Once in Kingston, transfer to the port lands and to a St Lawrence River Cruises full service cruising vessel.  Witness green riverbanks, small villages and towering cathedrals from one of the most significant waterways on Canada and experience a taste of Canadian culture in several ports of call along the way.

Pass along the northern shore of the St Lawrence River, through historic Trois-Rivières and charming Cap-de-la-Madeleine with its national shrine to the Virgin Mary.  When you reach the bustling metropolis of Montréal get ready to explore the second largest French speaking city in the world after Paris.  Whilst in Montréal, walk down lively St. Catherine Street with its numerous shops and cafés. A sightseeing tour of the city is well worth doing – you will see many landmarks and highlights including the Notre Dame Basilica, the financial district, historic Old Montréal and the charming Latin Quarter.  Visit the Olympic Complex and travel through the campus of McGill University to experience the incredible panoramic views from the observation point on top of Mont Royal.

On arrival in Québec take a sightseeing tour, experiencing the modern and historic elements of the city.  Québec City is the only metropolis in North America with city walls and gates, earning it United Nations World Heritage Site status. The city harbours many historical treasures and has a joyful atmosphere – your own private guide will take you on an interesting journey through many areas including the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham, the Fortifications, the National Assembly, Place Royale and the Basilica. Québec has many fine restaurants so make sure you take advantage of what is on offer whilst you are there.

Ottowa

There is lots to see in Ottowa so once you have settled, spend a couple of hours exploring the city’s many sights such as Embassy Row, the National Gallery of Canada and the parliament Buildings.  Make sure you spend an afternoon perusing the city’s many museums, galleries and boutiques too.

Niagara Falls

No trip to this part of Canada is complete without experiencing the incredible Niagara Falls. Enjoy a full day excursion, traversing through the lush fruit-growing district and wine region of the Niagara Peninsula. Marvel at the spectacle of the famous Niagara Falls and step aboard the Hornblower Niagara Cruises ‘Voyage to The Falls’ boat tour for a fantastic trip to the foot of the Horseshoe Falls. Take plenty of pictures, admire the sheer volume and velocity of the water and perhaps take a stroll into town.  Take a trip along the beautiful Niagara Highway, which winds its way along the Niagara Gorge.  On one evening in the area, pass through the historic community of Niagara-on-the-Lake before returning to Toronto for dinner.
