Fly Drive USA

Fly Drive California and the South West USA

The size and diversity of the USA makes the destination, re-opening to fully vaccinated travellers in November this year, perfect for a fly-drive adventure.

We work with the best USA specialists to create itineraries that make the most of each area and maximise the opportunities to explore and get the most out of your trip.

It’s sometimes difficult to know where to start as the USA offers so much choice.  Feel the thrill of the open road along the famous Californian Highway One, wind your way along the Blues Highway through the Deep South or follow Route 66 from Chicago in the east to Los Angeles in the west.  Wherever you decide to go, we can help you choose from a ready-to-go fly drive itinerary or can tailor make your own specific journey.

Below is the low down on California and the South West, one of our favourite areas to explore by car, with an outline of what you can expect to see;

California – The Golden State

California is immense in size and experience and offers an interesting and diverse landscape which is fantastic to explored with the aid of 4 wheels.  The world renowned cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco grab the limelight but compete with America’s largest and most beautiful wine regions, lush and tropical landscapes, snow-capped mountains and the longest coastline in the Unites States.

Arizona – The Grand Canyon State

Arizona is a state of Native American and Hispanic heritage and Old West Legends.  The state is, of course, home to one of the seven natural wonders of the world; The Grand Canyon and is blessed with sun drenched cities, spas and glittering resorts.  The varied landscapes of the state are further enhanced by incredible year round fine weather and glorious sunshine.

Utah – The Beehive State

Known as the Beehive State due to the Utah population’s hardworking and persevering nature, Utah is an exciting state. 42 state parks, 6 national forests, 5 fantastic national parks, 7 national monuments and 13 areas to ski alone provide great reasons to visit Utah.  There are plenty of recreational activities to enjoy in Utah and several exciting cities, such as Salt Lake City and Ogden.

Nevada – The Wide Open State

Known predominantly for the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada is also gateway to several national parks and the impressive Great Basin National Park in the north east of the state.  The 24 hour gaming capital of the world does of course attract visitors so no visit to the state would be complete without 2 or 3 nights in Las Vegas.

New Mexico – The Land of Enchantment State

New Mexico offers a rich mix of culture, natural resources and history as well as a diverse landscape.  Tiny village and modern cities, multicultural traditions and a fascinating history ensure that every visit here is enchanting. Visit Santa Fe, America’s oldest capital and exciting Albuquerque, home to the international balloon festival since 1972. Experience the beauty of the White Sands surrounded by the Sacramento, San Andreas and Organ Mountains.

Texas – The Lone Star State

Think cowboy culture, sizzling barbeques and scenic drives and you’ll be in the Lone Star State.  Immaculate greens make Texas a golfer’s paradise and the crystal blue waters of the Gulf are an adventurer’s dream.   Take a view of the world beyond ours at the McDonald Observatory, paddle through cypress-lined swamps and hike the Guadalupe Mountains of the Big Bend region.  Texas is an adventure.
